Perfect Like Me Information (Omar's new band)
I figured I'd give you guys the story behind this band, and what happened up to the point of this band being created.

Initially before Perfect Like Me was created, Omar had asked Max if he could be back in Escape The Fate, since Ronnie was gone and everything was going well (This was about 1 month before Craig joined). Max wanted Omar back in but had to consult with Brian and Robert first. Brian said no, that he just wanted a 4 piece band, and Robert went along with it since he is Brian's little sidekick.

After being denied from ETF, Omar wanted to get something going again, and decided to get his 2 best friends from L.A., and try and get something going. These 2 gentlemen are Ross and Durado (last names). All three of these guys are formarly from the band LoveHateHero. Once these 3 were established, they started writing music. Ross was supposed to initally be the second guitarist. At this point, they were looking for vocals and a drummer.

Very quietly, Omar has suprisingly been talking to Ronnie about being the vocals for Perfect Like Me. Ronnie had agreed and were going to start tracking the songs they had already written. Three days later Ronnie is wanted for jumping parole. So, that idea was scrapped and they started trying out people for the vocalist spot.

They tried out several people and finally decided to give long time friend Evan a shot (formarly of "A Life Like This", which had band members Ross and Durado in previously). Evan tracked the song "Bad Bad Blood" and they sent it to Elvis. Elvis apparently loved it and told them to get on to Virginia asap so they could start recording.

Granted, they are still without a drummer at this point, they went to Virginia for two weeks and recorded 9-10 songs.

After about a month, Omar moved to L.A. to be closer to his bandmates. At this point Ross decided he wants to continue to do drums, so he switched places. They are currently in the midst of getting a record deal in the near future.

I'm sure we will be hearing from these guys real soon. They have a good style of music that is radio friendly and sounds kick ass. They will get big. As we have seen with any band Omar is in, they do quite well, because their music is just awesome.

Well, there you go... that's Perfect Like me in a nutshell.

Why wouldn't Brian let Omar back in?

Oh well, I like the band, they're really good.
I like the demo version of "Bad Bad Blood" better, but this one's good too.
The best song is definitely "A Life of Dying" though.

It's sad to say, but the "fame" has gone to Brian's head. He wanted to be the only one up there playing guitar. He wants the center spotlight.

It's just so sad... I remember that kid befoer ETF was even a band when Omar got together with him in this shitty band the Brian was so quiet and went along with anything anyone said. He never talked back and was always reaklly quiet.

I doubt its the fame
something happened to my friends band:
my friend was lead, and the other guy was rhythm
the rhythm guy couldnt play as well as my friend and he got kinda annoyed
he wanted to play some gnarly solos with harmonies and stuff but the rhythm guy didnt really want to, and in my opinion, couldnt, so he wanted to kick him out and he said he would double track guitar so he could make the solos and harmonies, and have more freedom. an they klicked him out

i think thats what monte wanted: to do what he wants and visions for the guitars in the band, when i talked to him we talked alot about the guillotine 2 and the sweeps and solos, and he wanted to know what we thought about it. i mean come on, they dont have much fame. i think they had more when DIYLF came out and all the music videos were made

Yeah, and they really aren't that famous. If you go up to random people and ask if they've heard about Escape The Fate, most of them will probably say no.

But, I will say, in my opinion, they should have let him in because:
1. He worked just as hard as them to build what is Escape The Fate.
2. It would be better to be able to have as many members in Escape The Fate as possible since they have a new lead singer, people wouldn't be "This just isn't Escape The Fate anymore." and you could say, "They just have a different singer, it's not like their guitarist quit and they got a new singer, they just got a new singer".
3. He's really good at playing the guitar, and him an Bryan played really good together. If you see some videos of them live, Bryan messes up a lot. It's because it's hard to play the rhythm and lead at the same time, I know, but he wouldn't have that problem if Omar were still in the band.
I don't know, I just like Omar, and I think it was wrong of them not to let him back in.

I don't think so.

If I remember correctly someone posted on the Forum here (before it got redone) and said that Omar would go on these "power trips" and it would cause tension between the two.

I'm not going to state that as a fact, because I'm unsure but that is what I heard.

Besides I highly doubt, judging by Bryan's demeanor, that he would crave fame that fucking bad. He still would have been recognized with Omar for those skills the guy has

Not to sound mean or anything, but what's the big deal with Omar like leaving? He's just rhythm guitar who they can replace?

I know it sounds offensive, but like usually people don't make that big of a deal because even a LEAD guitarist can still replace another great lead guitarist.

Was he like the one who created ETF or something?
Also, vtolegend, could you talk more about what Monte said about The Guillotine 2?

Well, to be honest... Omar actually came up with about 80% of the guitar rifts/solos/everything on the EP and LP. I won't lie, Brian does a great job now and is very good, but when they first wrote all those songs... Brian was no where near as talented as he is now.

Ooh.

There are some tight solo's on DIYLF though, mainly The Guillotine, Sympathy, Apocalypse.

Yeah, I hear the old Escape The Fate sound in Perfect Like Me's songs, so he obviously came up with a lot of it.
